What to expect?

Introduction: Often when I have clicked Umi’s photos, impulse is the key. Being at the moment, and capturing that moment is something what I have done, so there isn't much preparation which goes in. Lot of times, she won’t want to get clicked, and I would have to put off my plan to take those shots, which I was thinking in my mind. So, stuff happens.

With kids, photography is challenging, so first thing to expect, is the unexpected, which is that all the kids would take their own time, to adapt and get comfy, before we start clicking. Also, if they are not in a mood, we can push them, because, one you wont be(believe you me), secondly, where is the fun, then? Photography: Rather than trying to push through and take photos, I love to play around a bit, and make them comfortable, and then take some images. That is the formula, which has worked with umi, and yielded great photos. Here are some general guidelines, in relation to what to expect, when we engage for a photo shoot: I don’t click in studios, in those hefty lights and traditional white background shots. I have always enjoyed clicking in the natural surroundings, of kids. It could be their home; their play area, park, balcony or a terrace. Natural elements are Key to making those portraits memorable and important for what I do. Also, I recommend having let them do the things they love to do. Remember, we don’t enjoy the shots of kids just looking the smartest, but often, we enjoy those photos the most, where we can relate to the event in the life. Their favorite towel, ball or a toy and their natural sleeping time, all of these bring that important feel to the photo. No rush in my sessions, and no pressure on children to “perform”. My work not only is on the interaction front, and clicking photographs, but many hours of post processing, behind the scenes. There are no additional fees for customization, which I do, as part of post processing, as it is at the heart of my services. Location: I can shoot at a location of your choice, though my preference would be child’s room or a park or natural surroundings, where the child can do varied things. Some very basic dressing suggestions: -accessories, such as headbands, scarves, jewelry, jackets and hats can really add to your look -avoid all white or all black color combos -Avoid matching outfits, but rather try to find outfits that compliment each other -Avoid clothing with logos and busy patterns that will distract -Color! Splashes of color really make your photos pop! Delivery of photos: Approx within a week, I will share with you, the photos over the email or by a private photo gallery. You would have option to choose and pick the photos, based on your package. The printed photos and their delivery would depend on the package selection.
